Mambo Jazz Kings

The Mambo Jazz Kings are an extremely talented 14 piece R&B Soul Band, with the looks of Earth Wind and Fire, the driving horns of Tower Of Power, the excitement of Beyonce, the sweet and sexy tenderness of Luther Vandross, the flash of Cameo, and the home grown funk of James Brown.  It's been said that they are truly a joy to dance and listen to, and a visual explosion to watch.

FIEL
For those that require labels, you could call it World. It's what Willie Nelson might have sounded like had he grown up after Bob Marley, Reaganomics, and The Clash. Anyone who appreciates a good singer-songwriter that plays heartfelt and emotional music will no doubt be moved. Although FIEL's World Fusion sound leans heavily on Reggae for inspiration, their music is decorated with waves of Latin American, Carribean and Afro-Cuban polyrhythm, not to mention the occasional Rock burner, acoustic jam, or Americana tear-dropper.

The Reagan Administration
The Reagan Administration is a group of crack musicians based in Austin, Texas who have spent years touring and performing across the country with many bands including Willie Nelson, Honeybrowne, Trent Willmon, Ryan James, 100 Love Sonnets, Jedd Hughes, Django Walker, Meltdown Morning and the Hi-Fi Collective. Created and managed by Scott Faris, former Director of Guitar Studies for the world-reknowned South Plains College Creative Arts Department, the Reagan Administration will blow your mind. If they were up for re-election, it would be a landslide! This band of all-stars delivers a stellar night of high-octane, energy-driven music with a politically tongue-in-cheek twist!

Assemble The Skyline
Assemble The Skyline is a pop/rock/alternative band from Los Angeles, formed and fronted by Galveston's own Luke Boor. The band will be making their island debut this Mardi Gras, Feb. 26th, as direct support to headliner Neon Trees. After graduating from Ball High in 2005, Boor moved to LA to attend Musician's Institute, a contemporary music college in Hollywood. Here he formed ATS with fellow students Max Waller, Austin Hayman & Nick Jordan. Over the past 2 years, the band has mastered the art of Do-It-Yourself promotion and guerilla marketing. They have toured extensively through the west coast, drawing crowds up to 400 at The Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles. Purevolume.com ranked the band #12 on their list of "Top 20 Unsigned Bands of 2010". The band has also appeared in nation wide magazines Alternative Press and Music Connection. Assemble The Skyline's 2nd album, "Right Here Right Now" was released early Jan and is currently available on i-tunes. "Right Here Right Now" includes a song featuring Ryan Key, lead singer of the platinum-selling band Yellowcard. After Mardi Gras, the band plans to tour the state, concluding in Austin on March 16th to participate in SXSW.

Their first single "Animal” hit #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the Alternative Rock Chart, #1 on US Adult Chart, #2 on US Rock Chart, and #7 on Top 40.

Kevin Anthony
Texas based musician, Kevin Anthony, whose musical life experience has brought him from Galveston, Texas, up to Houston, would bring him even farther north to New York City in 1993 and then jetted him to Minneapolis where he made his home since 2005. He's been playing with his group, the Twin City Playboys ever since, where their mix of Cajun and Country made them a local staple. In December of 2010, Kevin returned to his home in Galveston, Texas. This Mardi Gras is going to be a great way to celebrate the homecoming of a BOI as well as Mardi Gras!

Jonathan Sexton & The Big Love Choir

Singer/songwriter Jonathan Sexton's unique style transcends genres and generations with music that speaks both to the good and unruly in all of us. His up-tempo beat and lyrical twists will move you. His spirit and character are revealed in his music. Jonathan will tell you he is no saint, but his goal is to live with honor and integrity. His message is to the world, his performances electric and contagious. And it's time the world knows who he is. Jonathan Sexton, a native of Knoxville, Tennessee, was born into a world of music through his father's passion for it. Jonathan's passion for his own music has given him a sense of empowerment and strength. He shares the struggles and joys of his personal experiences in the words of his songs. His music encourages you to find the gratitude and strength in life lessons. An unknown artist only a few years ago, Jonathan Sexton is already getting nods from major concert promoters and sharing the stage with some of the best musicians the south has to offer. Gaining attention from critics nationwide, he continues to hit the road to entertain his growing number of fans. Knoxville New Sentinel staff writer Randall Brown says, "Jonathan Sexton is overflowing with big ideas of universal love and good vibes along with a great set of chops!” Jonathan was recognized as one of only five musical artists in Nashville Lifestyle's August 2010 issue of "Hot List for 2010” along with artists such as Miranda Lambert and Faith Hill. His incredible momentum is further evidenced by being added to the "Sundown in The City” concert series, along with other equally impressive feats. Sexton gained enough attention to secure, not one, but two show spots at the renowned 2010 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. And with the help of his friends at The United Way, Sexton scored big with fundraising efforts in support of Nashville flood victims at the festival. Jonathan's efforts were recognized in Paste Magazine's June 2010 issue. AC Entertainment owner and founder Ashley Capps wrote, "Jonathan's music is prolific and meaningful and is a perfect fit for Bonnaroo.” This wonderfully transcendent writer, singer and true artist must be heard as well as experienced. His songs speak to the stark truths of life, recognizing and accepting both the virtues and the difficulties; but, always seeking to encourage the positive journey to those who choose to listen. Jonathan Sexton is driven by his desire to share not only his music, but also his message with the world.

strawberryJAM

StrawberryJAM began as an impromptu jam session in April of 2008 at the Barefoot Art Guild in College Station, TX. The lineup grew from there, bringing together musicians from the A&M campus. "When we first started out, there was no practice, no setlist, and no membership. Whoever wanted to get on stage just jumped on, sometimes 13 people at one time, and the jam would go for hours." The free-form format taught the group how to improvise with each other and they continued to gain local popularity for high-energy, unpredictable performances. Over the last two year sJAM has consolidated the lineup to six and has been working hard writing original material as well as gigging as much as possible. The first sJAM release, The Recession EP, was recorded at The Zone Studios in Dripping Springs, Texas. All the members of sJAM now live in Austin, TX and are releasing their first full length album Spring 2011.
